Delhi - Sringar- Sonamarg-Pahalgam-Gulmarg-Delhi Day
1 : Delhi
Arrival in Delhi Airport and Transfer Hotel, Afternoon
Sightseeing in Delhi (Red Fort, Jama Masjid, India Gate,
Qutab Minar, Laxmi Narayan Temple ) and Overnight stay
in hotel Day
2 :Delhi to Sringar
After breakfast Transfer to Airport and 2 :PM
pickup to airport (sringar) transfer
to Deluxe Houseboats. Late afternoon Shikara ride on Dal
Lake visiting floating and Vegetable gardens etc. Also
witness walnut woodcarving and papier machie making
demonstration.
Dinner overnight in Deluxe Houseboats Day
3 : Houseboats
Morning
sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of
pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in
1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir
for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are
situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains
in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said
gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit
carpet-weaving factory. and back to Deluxe Houseboats
(Srinagar) for dinner and overnight stay. Day
4: Sringar to Sonamarg
Full
day excursion to Sonamarg by cars. The distance of about 83
kms will be covered about 2-½ hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sindh
Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains.
Sonamarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the
high altitude of Himalayan Lake. Drive back from Sonamarg
and back to Deluxe Houseboats (Srinagar) for dinner and
overnight stay. Day
4: Sringar to Pahalgam
After early breakfast and drive to Pahalgam (Valley of
Shepherds) . Drive through Saffron fields, visit Awantipura
ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King
Awantiwareman). Drive through the pine forest and along
Lidder River. The total distance of about 140 kms will be
covered in about 4 hrs.
Fishing - Pahalgam is one of Kashmir's popular trout
fishing beats. Kashmir is famous for its trout although they
tend to be rather small. Additionally, fishing licences are
hard to get and rather expensive. A compulsion is to keep am
guide and one is also permitted to catch six fishes, which
is the daily limit.
and back to Deluxe Houseboats (Srinagar) for
dinner and overnight stay.
Day
5: Sringar to Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea
level. The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2
hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and
highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also
have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view
enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can
also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg which can be covered
in about 3 to 4 hrs. Chair Lifts for mountain ride are also
available.
and back to Deluxe Houseboats (Srinagar) for
dinner and overnight stay. Day
6: Sringar -
Free
full day and shopping (carpet, shawls, pashmina shawls,
jewellery, wooden handicrafts paper machie etc) and back
to Deluxe Houseboats (Srinagar) for dinner and overnight
stay. Day
7 : Sringar - Transfer to Airport, and onward Destination.
